Parent Contract

By adding your "digital signature" below, you are certifying that you are in agreement with all policies and procedures found in the handbook while on campus or at an official Compass event off campus. 

Some of which are:

• I am only registering children for whom I am the legal guardian.
  • If I am registering anyone other than my children, I have been given permission to bring them from the parents and Leadership Team.
• I recognize that I am making a COMMITTMENT to Compass.
  • A committment for the whole semester if I am not teaching a year long class
  • A commitment for the year if I am teaching a year long class.
    • If I withdraw before my commitment is up, I understand that I will NOT be refunded tuition and I will have to pay any remaining balance.
      • I realize I am putting all other members in a bind to try to fill my spots.
      • I realize I may not be able to register my family for Compass in the future.
  • A commitment to fulfilling all of my duties that I was given/signed up for for the semester.
  • A commitment to being on time to Compass and for my kids and I to be in class on time.
  • A commitment to attending at least 1 service project each semester.
  • A commitment to attend all mandatory inservices/trainings/events.

****NOT fulfilling all of your commitments may result in being on probation and possibly not being able to return to Compass the following semester.****

• I agree to pay the full semester tuition by the agreed upon date.
  • By failing to pay by the agreed upon date, I acknowledge that I will be charged a late fee, my kids may be dropped from their classes, and possibly not being able to return to Compass in the future
• I understand that Compass is a co-op and every parent is required to teach or help in some way throughout the day. 
  • I agree to fulfill all responsibilities I am assigned, including committees and cleaning jobs.
  •  If I am unable to attend one day, I will find a replacement for my jobs that day and I will contact leadership team by email and let them know.
  • I understand that I may have to sub or help when I am not already assigned as a helper or teacher in a class for that period. This is NOT an option.
• I will remember that the moms involved on the leadership team and board are volunteers like me and do not get paid for their time.
  • I understand that their decisions are for the good of Compass as a whole and are always prayerfully considered.
• I will refrain from any gossip, unwholesome talk (including inappropriate language), or unwholesome behavior while at Compass, at a Compass event, or on social media...even if I am only around other adults. 
• I understand and agree that I, or my spouse, must remain on the premises the entire time and be responsible for my children, regardless of their age, whenever they are participating in co-op and co-op activities off campus.
  •  I understand prior arrangements with the leadership team and signed proper forms for my child(ren) must be made and on file for older student drop off or temporary guardianship use.
• I have read the Statement of Belief and agree to it and will abide by them while at Compass or any Compass related events (Official and unofficial).
• I understand that Compass Homeschool Co-op does not give legal protection or legal assistance. Also Compass is not obligated to testify regarding your homeschool’s validity, authenticity, or effectiveness to legal authorities or in court.
• I understand and agree that Compass Leadership Team, Instructors, or the host church will at no time be responsible for mishaps, injuries, or accidents that may occur during the year. We have read and signed the release of liability and submitted the form.
• I agree to pay for any item that my children or I damage or break that does not belong to us.
• I agree that I will actively monitor my kids when they are not in class
• I will make my children aware of the policies/procedures and my children will:
  • Submit to all policies and rules
  • Attend all classes for which I have registered them (including lunch/recess and chapel/LIT).
  • Fully participate in the class and outside of class by completing any homework assignments (for core or highschool classes) 
  • Be respectful to other kids, teachers, adults, and property.
• I understand that these are not all of the policies and procedures I am agreeing to.  There is more in the handbook and by signing below, I am agreeing read the handbook and to abide by ALL of them even if they are not listed here.

I understand that if anyone in my family (including myself) violates any of the above or anything in the Compass Handbook, it will jeopardize our participation in the co op, and that Compass Leadership reserves the right to deny participation to any student or family at any time.
